Who are we?

Boots on the home ground is the 501c4 charitable arm of a private, all volunteer, community based group of Washington State Veterans and Patriotic Americans who feel we owe everything this country enjoys to our Veterans who put their lives on the line for us. Many of us have dealt with Federal and State agencies and know the struggles that our warfighters face when trying to get the most basic help from these agencies, let alone the narrow scope of the help available. Our focus is on filling the gap in Veterans needs that are either not supported by these agencies, or are too slow coming. We do our work with all volunteer, unpaid members who are community focused and volunteer their own time and money to help Veterans and communities in need. Some of the help we have provided includes building handicap access ramps, helping a homeless veteran and his family with transportation, temporary housing, and advocating with State officials to get them into permanent housing. We donated a car to a Gold star family in need. We have helped out in our communities by handing out toiletries and socks to homeless individuals, sending a truckload of bottled water to a town whose water system had failed, and donating relief supplies to several communities affected by wild fires. We’ve done all of this and more with just our own member volunteers, their donations, and donations from boxes at various businesses around the State. Imagine what we could accomplish with your support.

Vision

To “fill the gap” for veterans and communities in need through local, volunteer-based support and services throughout Washington State.

Mission

To improve the lives and come to the aid of veterans, their families, and communities in need in Washington State via local, volunteer, community based outreach and support.

Goals

Our goals are two pronged. First, to help Veterans who are suffering from homelessness, disabilities, or challenges in life in Washington State by direct action or partnering with local organizations to “fill the gaps” in our local, State, and Federal Veteran support networks. Second, to come to the assistance of our local communities in times of need or disaster.

How can you help?

You can help us help Veterans and communities in Washington state by making a one time, or recurring monthly donation. As stated above, we are an all volunteer group who truly cares about our Veterans and communities in Washington. As such we have no paid employees. That means 100% of your donation goes directly to helping Veterans or communities in time of need. There are much larger organizations out there that are more businesses than outreach programs where as little as ten cents of every dollar donated goes directly towards actually helping the people it is meant to. The rest? Well that goes to bloated salaries and advertising. We are not here for money or recognition. We are here to help because we really do care about our Veterans and our local communities. We are grass roots and really do have our “Boots On The Home Ground”. So, please, help us by donating today. Every little bit will help us do more to have a positive impact on the lives of Veterans and our communities here in Washington State.
